In front of you is a document with a description of an ICT game. ICT stands for Information and Communication Technology. This game that has been / is being developed is intended for young people from 10 years old. This is to introduce young people in an interactive way to the subject of ICT, the roles and functions that exist within ICT and the social importance of ICT in our society.
Various studies have shown that both teachers / deans in the VO (Secondary Education) and the ICT sector, for example, are hardly able to explain what an ICT professional does, what you can achieve with an ICT study and what kind of added value ICT delivers to society. This means that fewer and fewer young people are opting for an ICT study, so that a shortage of approximately 12,000 ICT workers is expected in 2010. Reasons for not choosing an ICT study are often because:
1. it is unclear what future possibilities there are or what it entails;
2. ICT (according to various studies) has a technical and complex image.
The teaching package including an ICT game was born out of a great passion for the profession, which will remove the prejudices and ambiguities of a career in ICT.
This document serves as a Business Case for the concept of the teaching package, which includes EQIP.ICT game. The EQIP.ICT game needs to be further developed and expanded and this requires financing.
The aim is therefore to use this document to submit subsidy applications for the further development of this product.
If you have become interested or curious, I invite you to read the Business Case. I look forward to your response.
